A Toshiba company has got satellite Winds after the hacking.

While NEC Toshiba Space Systems Ltd thieved Mitsubishi's data of (antenna of) satellite Winds from the space agency's computer, (I knew on May 11, 2007) already on Aug 7, 2003 (under the Koizumi administration) NEC Toshiba Space Systems Ltd has been the prime contractor of national satellite Winds.

On Dec 12, 2001 Mr. Shunsuke Migita 右田俊介, 28, of NEC Toshiba Space Systems Ltd NEC東芝スペースシステム and from Toshiba Corp 東芝, illegally accessed Mitsubishi Electric Corp 三菱電機's confidential data for satellite 'Winds' project on NASDA (past JAXA) computer, using Mitsubishi Electric's ID and password on internet and he informed the ID and password to 86 his co-workers by e-mail. Mr. Seiichi Motohashi 本橋聖一, 44, from Toshiba, and Mr. Masao Amano 天野雅夫, 40, from NEC, of 86 illegally accessed but weren't accused. On Sep 6, 2002 the Tokyo District Court, Japan 東京地裁 gave Mr. Shunsuke Migita 10 months imprisonment for illegal access. Mr. Migita presumed the ID and password, he said.

The first information of this hacking news was on Feb 14, 2002. In the beginning (every) Japanese major news sources only informed, in Japanese, the hacker criminals were NEC Toshiba Space Systems employees not a Toshiba employee.I barely found words 'the Toshiba employee ...' only on the English site of Yomiuri Online News. And then soon I e-mailed many (fair) foreign sources to prove 'Toshiba persons spy usually.'. (I still didn't use any BBSes or forums.)
Honestly I think, if I didn't do it, this Migita's case could not be a criminal affair in Japan and the perpetrators' names wouldn't be opened. (However, I felt pity for Migita. Because his Toshiba's boss might order Migita and only the boss might escape.)

For a week after Feb 14, 2002, Toshiba Corp perfectly blocked my PC operation (in my home) by the Toshiba's evil remote (microwave) operation. It was the first perfect blocking for me.
Toshiba persons ran command 'enter key 5' after my PC booted up and I opened every editor or internet application softwares.
I had to call my mother and father the closest Sunday. Because I was making my resume on my PC to get a new job, still in 2002 after my boss Hiroshi Kobayashi 小林寛 'a Toshiba industrial (team) spy' unfairly labeled me 'neurotic' and fired me from Orix Securities Corp オリックス証券 on Nov 15, 2001 'the Kobayashi's birthday'. (I later knew his birth of date.)
But Toshiba persons didn't stop it and my parents also watched it. But my parents, not having PC knowledge, couldn't be the crime watchers.
However Toshiba Corp stopped it a few days later and I could operate my PC again (without any repair). (Although (far later) Toshiba Corp sometimes perfectly blocked my PC operation for 1 or 2 weeks.)

Now I suspect ETS-8's (fatal?) trouble (maybe, since Feb 21, 2007) on Nihonkeizai Shimbun, May 10, 2007 might be again from Toshiba Corp's terrorism for unjust resentment and any new money.
The prime contractor of JAXA's satellite ETS-8 probably is Mitsubishi Electric Corp. Surely, it would be almost being Toshiba Corp 'the maker of test satellite of ETS-8' but it might be Mitsubishi Electric Co for criminal affair 'the Migita's hacking'.

'Space agency files hacked'
Yomiuri News, Feb 14, 2002

An employee of major satellite maker NEC Toshiba Space Systems Ltd. illegally accessed a National Space Development Agency of Japan computer to obtain confidential information on the ultrahigh-speed Internet service the agency plans to launch in 2005, agency sources said Wednesday.
The agency has made deals on the Internet service with NEC Toshiba Space Systems and Mitsubishi Electric Corp. Both companies were given access to the agency's information system, but in such a way that neither side could access the data the other company was using.
According to the agency, the NEC Toshiba Space Systems employee decoded Mitsubishi Electric's system password and used it on Dec. 12 to view information meant to be restricted to the agency and the Mitsubishi representative.
The information included documents appraising the technology of satellite parts developed by Mitsubishi Electric.
The agency became aware of the incident on Dec. 13 after 'the Toshiba employee' sent an e-mail informing several individuals involved in the Internet project that the information could be illegally accessed. According to the agency, three more people then illegally accessed Mitsubishi's data.
Although these acts apparently violate laws preventing the illegal accessing of computer data, agency sources said they would not press charges as no actual damage was done.
Instead, the agency will remove NEC Toshiba Space Systems from the list of designated bidders for a month. The agency will create an investigative team to determine how the security breach was possible and look into new measures to deal with the problem.
According to the agency, the employee said Mitsubishi Electric's data was accessed by slightly changing the employee's own password.
This apparent weakness in the agency's security system may affect the information-gathering satellite it plans to launch early next year, which will require heavy security.
The Education, Science and Technology Ministry is taking the leak of confidential information seriously, and has begun instructing the agency on information security, the sources said.
NEC Toshiba Space Systems acknowledged that one of their employees had illegally accessed data and it apologized.
The company was created in April as a joint venture between Toshiba Corp. and NEC Co.
The ultrahigh-speed Internet service is expected to be as fast as a fiber-optic cable service, and the satellite communication network to be constructed for the service is aimed at setting the highest standard in the world.

On Oct 1, 2003 National Space Development Agency of Japan 宇宙開発事業団 (NASDA) and the 2 other organizations merged into Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency 宇宙航空研究開発機構 (JAXA).
